Each beach has something different to offer travelers, but take note that only some keep lifeguards on staff (and staffing varies by time of year). These sands are known for their cleanliness and their family friendliness. The beaches in Outer Banks stretch for more than 100 miles along the barrier islands that frame the eastern coast of North Carolina.
